Mummification Spell is the ancient Egyptian spell to conjure bandages that enwrap the subject to protect them from further decay and harm.

Overview

When the spell was cast, the subject would be instantly completely enwrapped in the magically conjured bandages indefinitely unless countered by a counterspell. However, it is still possible to transfer their soul to another body through the usage of enchanted scarabs.

Once successfully cast, the body of the mummified subject would be as preserved as possible and all the present souls contained inside it would be indefinitely entrapped to prevent them from moving on to the afterlife. Any attempt to unwrap them physically would severely electrocute the offender.

History

The spell was originally used by ancient Egyptian spellcasters to mummify and neutralize the demon Jeric when they could not vanquish him. After shis evil witch Isis de-mummified him with a counterspell, she was flayed to death by his enemies as a punishment. Throughout the next centuries, Jeric used this spell extensively himself to preserve the bodies not strong enough to hold Isis' spirit.[1]
