A Multiverse is a concept that refers to the existence of infinite dimensions and parallel realities in existence, with a similar nature and a universal hierarchy. Each universe is comprised of at least eleven planes of existence, including physical, spiritual, and afterlife planes.
Shakti and Shiva are known for having created All Things by consummating their love.[1] It is known that if Shakti and Shiva reconsummate their love, the universe will be destroyed and reborn.[1]
Description
Across all the universes seen thus far, there exists a trio of witches destined to become a great force of good in the times of a dire need by utilizing their collective Power of Three to vanquish evil and protect innocents, with each world having its own set of the Charmed Ones of different origin and background.
For every world that there exists, there exists a parallel inversion of it in order to mantain a cosmic balance of Good and Evil.[2]
Due to a powerful universal link, should any of the worlds be permanently destroyed, the fate of the entire overlapping multiverse would follow.
Communicating and Multiversal Travel
The only way known to communicate with the Parallel World is the usage of a certain mirror. It has a chessboard under it. Powers can cross this mirror as well as the chess pieces. This mirror was in Gideon's office in the Magic School and was often utilized by Good Gideon and Evil Gideon to plan their respective Wyatts' deaths[2] before it was ultimately destroyed by Good Leo and Evil Leo.[3]
Mel Vera, Kaela Danso, and Maggie Vera cross into the Halliwells' universe
In order to cross into a parallel universe, it was required to utilize the Power of Three or another powerful force to create a portal to a parallel world.[2] However, venturing into a parallel inverse can result in some adverse imbalance to the cosmos which would create a total chaos if the balance is not offset in time.
At the nexus point of two completely separate realities,[4] there existed a mystical "Infinite Home Video" store on a lineal space created by a Charmed One that can be accessed with a special video ticket by both worlds.[5]
Known Universes
Halliwells' Universe

This universe is where the original Charmed series takes place.
The Charmed Ones of this universe Prue, Piper, and Phoebe Halliwell, were prophesied by and inherited their powers from their ancestor, Melinda Warren, a medieval witch who was burned at the stake during the infamous Salem witch trials.[6] After the death of Prue on May 17th, 2001, the Halliwells' long-lost younger maternal half-sister, Paige Matthews, discovered her powers and succeeded Prue as the third Charmed One, thus reconstituting the Power of Three to continue their destiny to fight evil and protect innocents.[7]
Parallel World
Exterior of the Halliwell Manor
The Parallel World is a parallel version of the "original Charmed" reality, where moralities are reversed, but everything else that happens is approximately the same. As such, certain elements of this universe differ from its good counterpart; for instance, the Underworld is a paradise of good rather than a nightmarish place of evil, and the Charmed Ones are a force of evil instead of good.
This universe exists as a way to balance the Grand Design.[2]
Vera-Vaughn-Danso Universe
This universe is where the reboot Charmed series takes place. In this universe, there had existed many generations of Charmed Ones for over ten thousand years prior to the twenty-first century, starting with the trio Ishta, Inara, and Ishani.
The current generation of this universe, as of 2022, are maternal half-sisters; Mel and Maggie Vera, and a neophyte witch, Kaela Danso, who was originally a mortal but became a Charmed One due to a stem cell donation from Macy Vaughn, the Veras' fallen sister.
Notes and Trivia
- In a planned season 5 of the reboot series before its cancellation, a third reality was planned to appear, where the Charmed Ones of that universe would have been males, and which would have been the main setting for Season 5. This would represent the number 3 once again, as there would be three sets of Charmed Ones from different universes, each constituted by three Charmed Ones. It would also have been revealed that the triquetra represented a Triverse of Charmed. However, it never happened because the series was canceled after four seasons.[4]
- It would also have been revealed that the Infinite Home Video would actually be represented by the intersection of triquetra, whereas three separate corners or arcs would each represent a different universe.[4]
- According to Gideon, there existed more parallel worlds and realities.
- It is unknown if it is possible to consider alternative timelines part of the multiverse as their own universe or just versions of one universe, since some universes seem to mirror each other as what would happen if some individuals had made different choices from the ones they had made.
